The Cottage
Dating to the 1860s, Bumblebee Cottage is a traditional thatched cottage in the Donegal style. The roof, consisting of rye straw pinned back with scallops, is secured with ropes to prevent any damage from coastal winds. A local Donegal thatcher, who has learned the trade from his father and is passing it on to his son, is looking after it.
